This policy describes Beamlet, an independent macOS utility for managing Claude Code Remote Control, and this support website.

Information on your Mac

Beamlet stores preferences such as your starting folder, installed executable path, startup options and notification choices locally. Sandboxed builds also store security-scoped bookmarks for files and folders you select. Local lock files coordinate the process Beamlet starts.

Beamlet processes CLI output in memory to determine connection state and read the connection link. It keeps a bounded, in-memory history of connection diagnostic events. Diagnostics redact common secret, URL and home-folder patterns, but redaction is not a guarantee that every sensitive value is removed.

What Beamlet sends

Beamlet does not operate an account backend, include an advertising or analytics integration, or automatically upload connection diagnostics to its publisher in the current implementation.

If you choose Copy connection link or Copy diagnostics, that content goes to your system clipboard. A connection QR code represents the session link. Opening a connection opens Claude in your browser. Treat connection links and QR codes as private.

Claude Code and third parties

Claude Code handles its own authentication, AI processing and Remote Control network traffic. Beamlet uses your installed CLI; it does not collect your Claude password through a Beamlet login form. We do not claim that prompts, code, conversations or other Claude activity remain entirely on your Mac.

Software updates

The App Store build configuration contains no separate update service. The development/direct-distribution version includes Sparkle, whose update checks are inactive unless an update feed is configured. If enabled in a future direct release, requests to the update host may expose standard network information such as your IP address and requested version. This policy will identify that service before release.

Permissions and control

Notifications, launch at login, automatic connection and keep-awake behavior are optional. Change them in Beamlet or macOS System Settings. Closing Settings leaves the menu-bar utility running; quitting Beamlet requests shutdown of its own managed process.

Uninstalling Beamlet does not delete Claude Code, its account data or your projects. Preferences and support files can remain on your Mac. Contact us for removal instructions appropriate to your installed version.

This website and support

This site uses GitHub Pages and has no added analytics, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. GitHub may process technical request information to provide and protect its hosting service; see GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the content you send through our email provider, Gmail. We use that information to answer your request and maintain support correspondence as needed. You can request deletion by emailing us; applicable legal obligations may require some records to be retained. Do not send credentials, live session links or private source code. Public GitHub issues are visible to others and are also subject to GitHub’s policies.
